The Lexington School Board this week unanimously approved to hire the schools’ first resource officer for the district. RichlandSource.com reports, Lexington Police officer Mike Davis, who is a graduate of Lexington, will work in all 5 buildings in the district. The contract is for 3 years with the School paying $52,000 of Davis’ salary, while the village of Lexington will pick up $24,000 annually.
