Officials in Madison Township are considering placing a fire levy on the November ballot.

RichlandSource.com reports, the trustees have authorized fire chief, Ken Justus, to collect information for a possible levy replacement.

The current continuing levy, which was passed in 2000, is 5.5 mills and collects $680,000 per year. Justus said, if they run the current levy as a replacement now, the 5.5 mills would bring in an additional $380,000. That would bring the annual collection to $1.1 million.
