A Richland County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board member has resigned, amid allegations that they benefited financially from public dollars spent by the agency.

According to RichlandSource.com, Jay Wachs, president of the nonprofit Gravity Ohio, resigned this week via e-mail.

Tony Vero, Richland County Commissioner, said, they believe documents clearly show, Wachs was personally and financially benefitting as a member of the Mental Health board.

The Commissioners have contacted law enforcement agencies with their concerns.

Wachs, in response, mentioned he was not aware of a state law, which makes his work for the Mental Health Board, a conflict of interest with the non-profit.
