Mansfield Police Searching For Wanted Man After Struggle With Officer

At approximately 4:53 pm on February 12, 2022, Officer Jacob Oblak observed Tyler Morley, W/M/22, in front of 228 Clairmont Ave Mansfield, OH and knew he had an active warrant for domestic violence. As Officer Oblak attempted to affect an arrest a short struggle ensued. During the struggle, Tyler began to produce a handgun at which time Officer Oblak attempted to achieve cover. During this time a gunshot was heard by Officer Oblak as Tyler fled.

It was believed that Tyler had fled into the residence at 228 Clairmont Ave. Officers were able to remove the occupants and began attempting to communicate with Tyler. After several hours, the ASORT team introduced chemical agents into the residence. Again, after receiving no communication from anyone inside a search was completed subsequently finding no one inside.

Detectives from the Mansfield Police Department are executing a search warrant on the residence and charges will be forthcoming pending review by the Richland County Prosecutors Office in addition to the outstanding Domestic Violence Warrant.

Should anyone come into contact with Tyler Morley please call the local police immediately. He should be considered armed and dangerous.
