Lexington High School Football Player Tests Positive For COVID-19

Lexington High School has had a football player test positive for COVID-19.

Athletic Director Jeff Eichorn confirmed the information to WMAN News and said Friday's game vs Mt. Vernon as of Thursday morning has not been cancelled. Eichorn said they are working with the health department as they are doing contact tracing and want to make sure it's thorough and accurate. He said the health and safety of all the students, athletes and their families is their major concern. There is no time frame on making a decision of whether or not Friday's game will be played. Lexington is scheduled to host Mt. Vernon Friday in Week 1.
