Mansfield Police Chief Retiring From His Position

Mansfield Police Chief Ken Coontz is retiring from his position after 25 years in law enforcement. RichlandSource.com reports Coontz, 47, will become the city of Mansfield’s human resources director on April 8th. Coontz said, “Police departments need some change and personally, I feel I need some change.”

Coontz started with the Mansfield Police Department when he was 22 years old and has been chief since 2013. Mansfield mayor Tim Theaker will announce the next police chief at a later date.
