Mansfield City Council to Vote on Chicken Ordinance March 21st

Mansfield City Council spent a good part of their meeting Tuesday on the topic of residents keeping Chickens inside city limits.  The question has come up several times in the last 12 months and City councilmen Cliff Mears said one idea could be to let voters decide and put it on the ballot. He said the idea of having chickens in the city limits is not uncommon, as many large and smaller cities around the state have passed the legislation. Council will have two more readings on the Chicken Ordinance and will vote on it March 21st.  Council also could put it on the November ballot, if they choose to do so.
